The concept of community involves two ways to elevate our impact. First is the community where we live and serve: South County and North Jefferson County. We must create welcoming and hospitable environments for those in our community who come to us as God’s guests. We strive to welcome God’s guests with love and intentional hospitality like we welcome guests in our own homes. Our welcome begins the moment they drive onto Canaan’s campus.

Secondly, “community” also refers to “common oneness” as we share life together within the body of Christ. Our goal is to be reaching new heights in the intentionality with one another by creating environments to build relationships and make disciples. Similarly, we must create an environment where our staff grows in community with a space that is conducive to synergy, togetherness and accountability.

We envision these environments being created by additional parking, a spacious entrance area for mingling, ministry/mission information areas and a coffee bar with tables and chairs. The expanded office space would provide one location for the entire ministry staff.
